How to Make a Fall Throw Pillow

I’ll be showing How to Make a Fall Throw Pillow from drop cloth.

As part of our living room remodel, I made curtains for the windows out of drop cloth.

The drop cloth curtains were hanging in our living room for a few months, but I decided to change them out for plain white curtains.

I ended up having yards and yards of drop cloth that were no longer going to be used as curtains, so I decided to make some pillows with the fabric.

Here’s my attempt at making an envelope pillow.  Keep in mind I’m not an expert seamstress.  I used the tutorial here at Love Grows Wild.

I made 2 pillows out of some of the drop cloth, with plenty of fabric leftover.

Click here to see the Christmas pillow I made using a tree stencil.

I stenciled my pumpkin design on one of them.

When applying the stencil, I put a thick piece of cardboard under the first layer of drop cloth so the paint wouldn’t soak through to the back of the pillow.

I used acrylic paint to stencil on the drop cloth and it works well.

If you feel more comfortable using fabric paint, that’s an option too.

This pumpkin cut file is found at the bottom of this post.

I love the warm and vibrant colors of fall!  What about you?

Thanks for sharing How to Make a Fall Throw Pillow!
