3 simple elements for a 3 step project!

Step 1: Getting Your String Ready

We’ll start with the most important object in this DIY, so much so it’s in the name: the string! But no worries, no need to know string theory to get through this set of steps. Alright, we hear ya, no more dad jokes for the rest of the article (maybe).

    1.Choose 3 Colors

Coming out strong and fun for this project; you get to pick out 3 colors! Out of the 3, 2 of them will be visible and 1 of them is going to be what we’ll refer to as the “core string” because it is the string that’s holding everything together.

Thank you for all your hard work, core string. You’re the MVS (Most Valuable String).

    2. Measure & Cut

Time to grab those scissors and cut all 3 strings colors at least 12 in. This also depends on how long you’d like your bracelet to be! It’s also completely okay to eyeball it; it’s safer to cut off too much string than too little. Most likely, you’ll have some leftover string from the core string, and that’s a-okay!

    3. Knot it Up

Once your string is cut, gather the string together. Pinch your fingers a few inches away from the ends of the string, like in the picture directly below, and tie a knot. When your DNA string bracelet easy steps are all done, this will be how you tie your bracelet onto your wrist!

    4. Tape it Down

Bring your prepared string to a hard surface, such as the table we’re using in this string bracelet easy DIY, and above the knot tape down the core string, which should be positioned in the middle.

Fastening your string to a hard surface will help your project go smoothly. And by the time you get these steps down, you’ll be moving so fast that you’ll be relieved the string is properly taped down!

    4. Pull the Ends of the String

Now, you may grab both ends of the strings and pull them gently. As you start to do so, you’ll notice that the strings are moving up along the taped-down string.

Once you pull all the way, it will reach the top, and then it’s time to do these steps over again!

    5. Switch the Strings

After doing this a few times, you’ll notice that the strings begin to twist. Once you see this, you may actually have the strings switch sides!

You can do this by guiding one of the strings underneath the core string and then straightening them out. After they’ve switched, you can continue to do the same steps until it’s time for them to switch again!
