The process is fairly quick as well, it probably took about an hour or two to make these from start to finish and that includes drying time for the paint and glue.

    Supplies:

    -Wood Slices

    -Paint (acrylic or latex)

    -Paint brush

    -Hot glue gun

    -Sticks

-Red thread or string of some sort to hang the ornaments

First I painted the wood slices brown.

When the paint was dry I painted 2 black dots and 1 red dot for the reindeer’s face using the tip of a small acrylic paint brush handle.

While I was waiting for the paint to dry, my kiddos and I went out to the yard to pick up tiny sticks.

I chose to use sticks that naturally had the “y” look to them to use as the antlers.

I then hot glued them to the back of the wood slices.

Be careful with the hot glue gun and follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using.

I drilled holes in the top of the wood slice so that I could get red thread through to make a loop.

The thread was actually just embroidery floss and was tied using a double knot.

I ended up making 4 of these little guys. Aren’t they cute?!  They look adorable hanging on the Christmas tree.  Let me know if you end up making some and how you like them.

Thanks for sharing this project, How to Make Wood Slice Reindeer Ornaments!!
