Day 6 of Thankful for Repurposing-Wood Slice Reindeer Ornaments
Today I’m showing you how I made wood slice reindeer ornaments. These are easy ornaments to make and super cute too!!
First I painted the wood slices brown. When the paint was dry I painted 2 black dots and 1 red dot for the reindeer’s face; I used the tip of a small acrylic paint brush handle.
While I was waiting for the paint to dry, my kiddos and I went out to the yard to pick up tiny sticks. I chose to use sticks that naturally had the “y” look to them to use as the antlers. I then hot glued them to the back of the wood slices. My friend Katrin from KreativK has also made a deer using twigs and scrapbook paper; it’s so cool, you should definitely check it out!!
I drilled holes in the top of the wood slice so that I could get red thread through to make a loop. I tied the thread using a double knot.
I ended up making 4 of these little guys. Aren’t they cute?!
Thanks for sharing this project!!
