It’s time for another edition of International Bloggers Club. We’re a group of friends from around the world who get together once a month to do a themed project. This month we are focusing on a Valentine’s Day project and I’m sharing How to Make a Personalized Mug for Valentine’s Day.
*Update* After waiting for the cure time and hand washing the mugs a few times, a little bit of the paint is coming off.
I don’t know about you, but I love those fun personalized mugs that can be paired together, so I decided to make a pair of mugs for Valentine’s Day. I bought these white mugs at Walmart for around 90 cents each to use for this project.
I made an adhesive stencil using clear laminate to personalize these mugs. I also wrote a tutorial on How to Make Adhesive Stencils Using Clear Laminate that you can read about here.
I researched the different ways to paint on glass and ceramics and found this tutorial by The Creativity Exchange. For more information on this method of painting on glass or ceramic you can check out that post here. Because it is an oil based paint method, and I’m a preggy lady, to be safe, I sat this stencil project out and my husband stenciled the mugs for me.
Once the paint was dry, the laminate was peeled off and this is the end result. He did a pretty good job don’t you think?! I was pretty pleased with how these mugs turned out. What a fun mug set for a Valentine’s Day gift!
If you’re interested in getting these free SVG and JPEG Cut Files that I used on these mugs, you can go to this post and download them from there.
