It’s Int’l Bloggers Club again, and this month we’re actually taking a look back at past projects, showing what worked and what didn’t. This will hopefully be fun and interesting. 😉
I was looking back at my past projects, and I’m glad to say that a lot of them worked out really great. This stereo cabinet that I scored for $7 is probably one of my favorite projects because we love turning on the radio and dancing and singing to it.
I wanted to share these baskets because it’s getting close to Easter. These baskets are legit, and my girls love them for everyday play. Now granted the butterflies and flowers need to be replaced, but the actual basket is holding up to lots of playtime, and they’re apparently not just for Easter. 🙂
Projects that have Changed
As you can tell there are projects that get several revamps, and these are just the ones that have made it to the blog. I like revisiting different projects if they didn’t work out or if I’m not completely satisfied with them and either repaint them or find another repurpose for them. Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this! 😉 I feel like I’ve adopted Lowe’s motto for my projects, lol.
What didn’t work
This couch is a big one on the list of what didn’t work. Well it worked fine for a while, but the drop cloth was definitely just a temporary fix, and good for practice. Drop cloth is not great for stain resistance, nor is it great for everyday use and probably wouldn’t rank high on The Martindale Test. The drop cloth is wearing through on the arm rest. I’ve already started planning another revamp. This time I’ll probably reupholster the chaise by itself with actual upholstery fabric and recover the couch part differently and treat them as 2 different sets.
This toilet paper holder was actually really cool, or at least I thought so. Unfortunately it fell off the wall a few times and the roll holder broke off. I actually hot glued the piece back on a few times, but alas it was futile. I put it back in my repurposing stash for now.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about the epic hits and epic fails. I also want to add that some of my projects have been sold or donated because after a while I either decided I didn’t really need or want it, or that I needed to make room for more projects. 😉
Don’t forget to check out what the other ladies have reviewed from their past projects.
Thanks for sharing!
