Repurposed Sweaters and Telephone Poles
This past weekend, my little family took a trip to visit my side of the family. My little ones had so much fun playing at Grammy’s and with their cousins. Some things had changed since we had been there 3 years ago!! I couldn’t believe it had been that long since our last visit!! I took some pictures of projects that some of my family had been working on.
I walked into my mom’s house and my head turned at the sight of these jars; they were so beautiful! My mom repurposed some thrift store sweaters and covered these jars and gave them a sweet look.
She even made her own flowers from pink and red burlap to fill them.
She spray painted some yarrow to put in the jars. Isn’t that pretty?
These bottle caps were painted brown covered in mustard seeds and painted brown again to give it a realistic look. The petals were made with burlap, stiffened with glue and trimmed with yellow and blue paint.
My younger brother had built an awesome treehouse for his kiddo. My little ones loved playing on this!
He repurposed lumber from our aunt and uncle’s deck.
He also used old telephone poles that he got from the local co-op. Don’t you just love the character these poles give to the treehouse!!? They have lots of wear left in them too. The only new lumber was the railing and steps.
The roof is repurposed tin from one of my other brother’s buildings.
Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without some swings.
It’s nice and spacious too.
There’s even a sandbox under the treehouse. What kid wouldn’t love playing on this?! Pretty cool construct huh?
These were just a few of the things my family was busy creating. Next time I visit my family I’ll get pictures and feature my other 2 brothers’ projects, and hopefully it will be sooner than 3 years from now! 🙂
Thanks for checking out this post!!
