Repurposed Post into Snowmen
As some of you may know, we are in the process of remodeling our house. We recently took down 3 posts that divided the living room and entry way. We saved them in the hopes of repurposing them. I’ve already used pieces of the posts in 4 different projects!!
One of the projects on the list for these posts was to make snowmen. To begin this snowy adventure, part of the post was cut into blocks and painted an off white.
I planned to make 1 big, 1 medium and 3 small snowmen. My intention was to put the big and medium size snowmen together with a bolt and nut system, but ended up using glue to piece them together instead. The 3 little ones were left as single blocks. I used buttons and orange-painted screws to produce these cute faces. I struggled to find something to use for their mouths, nothing really looked quite right. Once I got the eyes and nose on I decided they were so stinkin’ cute as is, so that’s all they have for faces.
I also glued buttons on the second block of the 2 bigger snowmen. For the hats, I cut old socks and slipped them onto the top of the block to keep their noggins warm. The mama snowman has a flower on her hat.
I drilled holes into the second block of the bigger snowmen, and put some sticks in them for arms. I also added a little glue to keep the sticks in place.
I also crocheted little scarves for these wintry friends.
I like how this little snowman family turned out. How about you?
Do you think the snowmen need mouths?
Thanks so much for sharing!
