We’ve been simultaneously working on the bathroom and kitchen. I’m planning on doing a reveal of both rooms when they’re completely finished but until then just bits and pieces here and there. This weekend I stenciled a section of tile in our kitchen. I should mention that I sanded and painted the backsplash tile with an off white semi-gloss paint + primer before stenciling the tile.
I wanted to bring some of the red up from the counter into the tile and also dress it up a bit. What better way to add some pizazz than using stencils. I found this cute stencil by Folk Art at Michael’s for around $2 with coupon! It was the perfect design and size. Our tile is 6″x6″ and that’s the size of the stencil!!
Here’s the in-progress look:
I used painter’s tape to secure the stencil onto the tile. Then away I went stenciling the tile.
I got this little corner finished in the kitchen.
I love how it turned out and can’t wait to get to the rest of the backsplash.
Nice way to jazz it up a bit and pull things together.
Thanks for checking out this post!!
