Before I get into this project, I wanted to announce that in November I am doing a 30 day challenge called, “Thankful for Repurposing.” Each day in November I will post a repurposed project. I’m pretty excited about it and I hope you all are too!! 🙂 Now to this quick and easy project…
Cooler weather is upon us and pretty soon we will have to pull out the hats and gloves for those chilly days ahead. Usually by the time trick or treating rolls around, it is freezing cold, and that has me thinking of gloves and hats and making sure my girls are warm when they’re collecting candy. 😉 I started searching through the basket where I keep their hats and mittens, and realized I needed a better organization for these accessories.
I thought of an easy way to organize the hats and gloves by having them hang on our coat rack using jute twine and clothespins. I already had the jute twine and I bought the clothespins at Walmart for around $1.
I cut a long strand of twine. I took one end of the jute twine and threaded it through the small hole of a clothespin. Then I tied a double knot to keep it secured. Then I added another clothespin on the same end of the jute twine using the same process, so I would have 2 on one end for the gloves.
On the other end of the jute twine I secured another clothespin on it for the hat.
Then I tied the middle part of the twine onto one of the “coat hooks.”
I made enough for all of my kiddos’ hats and gloves.
What do you think of this organization system? What do you use to organize your hats and gloves?
