This is the 3rd installation of Int’l Bloggers Club. So far we’ve explored Valentine’s Day and Easter traditions around the world. This month we’re taking time to stop and smell the Flowers of Spring.
Here in the U.S., I know some people are still getting large amounts of snow!! Crazy, right?!! While it’s not snowing here in my part of Missouri, the temperatures are still cooler. Even with the cool temperatures, signs of spring are shooting through the ground.
With spring officially here, I decided to make a “Spring” sign to display. I took an old board that we had lying around, sanded and painted it. Then I crocheted various lengths of jute twine, to form into letters.
With my handy dandy hot glue gun, I secured all the crocheted pieces to spell, “SPRING.”
I also stenciled a sweet little bird on the sign, and hot glued some flowers for embellishment. Now I have a lovely Spring sign to celebrate the season.
Because this post is all about flowers, we thought to include our national flower, in this Flowers of Spring post. My national flower is a rose, as you can see I found some pretty silk ones for the occasion.
We don’t have flowers planted at my house, but we have some bushes that are starting to bloom and flower, and will soon turn into leaves. I wish I knew what kind of shrubs these are. Any clues?
