Repurposed Posts into Tea Light Candle Holders
I have been on a mission to repurpose as much of these posts as possible.
There have been pumpkins, a turkey, a snowman family, and more recently bunnies and chicks. I decided to move away from the rounded portion of the posts for a while, to focus on the square parts. What about making a tea light candle holder? Using a miter saw, I cut both the ends off to give it a flat, nail hole free surface to work with. (I ended up making 3 candle holders instead of just the 2 pictured below).
I sanded and painted the blocks, and gave them a touch of stenciling. My husband helped me, by using a 1-1/2″ forstner bit to drill holes into the square blocks, giving the tea lights a place to rest. This was a quick and easy project! That’s the kind we like though, right?!! 😉
I’m not the only one who has repurposed these posts into candle holders, Gray House Studio made some pretty candle holders a while back, using these same type of posts. Theirs are different than mine. If you have time, you should go check them out! 🙂 I also found some really cool tea light holder in a few Etsy shops: Simple Rustic Designs, Ten Barnes Studio, (affiliate links)
Thanks for checking out this post!!
I also wanted to say “Thank you” to my niece for taking a photo of me, for my blog profile.
