Filling My Frames with Cereal Boxes
I bought this picture at a garage sale last summer for 50 cents!! I can’t pass up frames, especially at that price, even if I don’t need them. I’ve slowly been working at using the frames I have in my stash. The other day, I saw a really cool picture on You Are a Daisy, with some 3-D butterflies, so I decided to make some of my own.
Combining these two inspiring posts I set out to make butterfly wall art from cereal boxes. First, I used my stencils to trace butterflies onto the inside of the boxes.
The butterflies were cut, painted, and hot glued on. I used cream and off white colors for the picture.
I chose not to put the glass back in the frame, so those butterflies could really stand out.
I just used what I had at home, but if I were to do this again, I would buy a few sheets of scrapbooking paper, with different patterns, to glue onto the cereal boxes. I would then cut the butterfly shapes out. There would definitely be more visual interest that way.
Would you want to make some wall art using cereal boxes? If so, what would you choose to make?
Thanks for checking out this post!!
