Bathroom Junky Letterpress Blocks Wall Art
A few days ago I saw an awesome project by Jess at Make and Do Crew, and I fell in love with this DIY letterpress wall art, and just had to try making one of my very own, junk style though, similar to my other project. I went looking around our house, pulling together whatever I could find. I was on a mission to spell out the word “BATH,” and found everything I needed from my repurposing stash.
I used a flower from a shower curtain ring to make the letter “A”.
I used a variety of washers for “T”.
I cut thin strips from a 1″x4″ to make the letter “H”.
I spray painted all the letters white, including the jute twine, which actually helped me to be able to form the letter “B” better.
I used pieces of 2″x4″ and 1″x4″ for the blocks. I applied stain and polyurethane to the blocks, and when that was dry, I attached frame hangers to the back. My original plan was to attach the blocks to some paneling inside of a frame, but it just didn’t work out when I tried to do it, so the blocks were simply hung individually.
I, then, hot glued the letters onto the blocks. The finished project was hung on the wall.
I like the different heights, depths, and widths of the blocks.
I’m loving the junky letter look, and will continue to make some more projects implementing this style.
What do you have in your repurposing stash that could be used for some junky wall art?
Thanks for checking out this post!!
