Little Girls’ Butterfly Dresser Makeover
Currently, we are refinishing the floors in my girls’ room. I am readying the furniture that will live in my daughters’ room, and one piece I finalized this weekend was this little dresser. I’m not sure how many times I’ve painted this particular dresser, but I know it’s had at least 4 different looks. The most recent was a white coat of paint and silver wooden pulls. It’s been a few years since I last redid it, and it’s in need of a makeover. It’s chipping a bit and the knobs are of particular interest to toddler hands, and are easy to take off and get lost.
I sanded the dresser, and painted it a cream color. Then, I made a trip to Hobby Lobby, and purchased some knobs, hopefully these will stay on better than the previous knobs. I actually painted the brand new knobs to fit the dresser better.
After all the paint was dried, I put the pulls on. I stenciled some butterflies and cherry blossom branches on the drawer fronts, in a slightly darker color, and here’s the result:
I feel like the butterflies and flowers give this a sweet, little girl look, just what I wanted to accomplish, and the colors are so soft…love!!
After the refinished floors are dried in my daughters’ room, this dresser will make its home there.
