Strawberry Shortcake Mirror and Storage Containers
My little girls love strawberry shortcake!! They watch her shows, read her books and wear clothes with Strawberry Shortcake on them!! To celebrate their love for this berry bitty character my mom likes to create Strawberry Shortcake themed items they can use. Here’s the latest addition to my little girls’ collection:
Every time my mom comes to visit my daughters love playing with her travel mirror, so she decided to design one just for them. She bought the mirror and fabric and went to town personalizing it. She covered it with poly felt using mod podge and let it dry for 24 hours. After the day was up she glued the fabric in place using mod podge. She then edged it with ric rac.
She thought it would be neat to repurpose coffee cans to store their crayons and colored pencils.
Using the same process for the cans as she did for the mirror, she covered the cans with poly felt using mod podge as a glue and let it dry for 24 hours. She then layered fabric over the batting, securing it with mod podge. She decorated the edging with ric rac and put felt on the bottom of the cans to keep them from scratching surfaces.
This little set will make a great addition to my little ones’ room. My girls love their gifts! I like the mirror and cans because they’re repurposed, practical, and super cute!! A huge thanks to my crafty mom!!! I also wanted to add that the beautiful pink blanket acting as a backdrop was crocheted by my aunt, Joyce.
