Repurposed Christmas Cards into Ornaments
I have a box full of cards and I thought it would be neat to repurpose the Christmas cards into ornaments. I looked for some Origami and other paper-made ornaments that would be easy to fold and use because Christmas cards are made with such heavy cardstock. I came across two tutorials on paper Christmas ornaments that I thought would work.
The first tutorial came from Folding Trees, which was incredibly helpful and well explained. I needed good instructions because I haven’t done Origami since I was in elementary school. Here’s my star ornament made from Christmas cards:
I used both the outside and inside of the Christmas cards so that I would be able to display a pretty design as well as the words written on the inside of the cards. I also used a hot glue gun to glue them together because I was working with heavy paper.
The second ornament was made using the tutorial from Homemade Gifts Made Easy. Here’s the bauble ornament made from some of my old Christmas cards:
Again I used the outside and inside of the card to make this ornament.
These ornaments were so much fun to make and really easy! I like how they turned out. I can’t wait to make some more and hang them on the Christmas tree this year!!
